Amasar, from Puerto Rico to Europe

The Amasar agroforestry company decided a few years ago to make their dream of processing Panapen fruit a reality. They developed his new plant, which uses sunlight and rainwater as a source of energy, on his farm in the mountains of Puerto Rico. The United Nations will recognize this sustainable business model in 2021. This fruit, which originated in the Pacific, was brought to the new world by spanish conquistadors looking for a cheap source of food for their slaves. Once in the tropics, the fruit underwent natural genetic mutations, transforming the Jaca or Yaca (JackFruit) fruit into Pana, Panapén (Breadfruit). This fruit is perishable, which served to convert this marketing limitation into its spearhead by being able to add a half-life during its process in its plant, allowing its use to be increased from days to a year and a half.

The Amasar farm has its own nursery, where the trees that are later planted are obtained. They do not use pesticides, chemicals, or genetically modified seeds (GMO's) during the cultivation process, allowing nature to express itself. They currently have a Pancake flour production line (pancakes), Multipurpose for pizzas, biscuits, cookies, and breakfast creams, among other things. Pancake flour was named product of the year at the Fancy Food Show in New York in mid-2022, receiving the SofiTM Award.

Since April of this year, Amasar has decided to enter the European market through a strategic business alliance with the Barcelona-based firm TWeE group. This has enabled it to participate in the 2022 Food Fair in Barcelona and SIAL 2022 in Paris, launching its product's internationalization in such a competitive market in the European Union. By 2023, he intends to take part in Madrid Fusión 2023, the world's most important gastronomic event, which attracts a large number of international press to cover the participation of the world's best chefs. Amasar is expected to have a very busy year in Europe. The TWeE group company is based in Barcelona and has all of the export, import, and distribution certifications for Food Product Scouting for the 27 countries that comprise the European Union.
